Metro is expensive compared to other grocery stores. I expect something more if I am going to spend the extra money. I don't get it at this Metro. The quality of the product is only slightly better than elsewhere and the quality of the service is extremely poor. This is because the manager values himself and his profits too much, lacking respect for his customers.I like to grab a flyer as I enter. You can't do that here. There is no rack near the door, nor is there a pile on the service counter. You have to walk outside the cash registers, wait for someone to be available, ask for them to retrieve a flyer for you from behind the service desk, then make your way back through the cashes to shop. The manager says that he does that to prevent having to pick them up in the parking lot. Really? He also arranges products and prices specifically to deceive people into buying higher priced goods that they think are a different price. There have been other awkward experiences with this management. This is the Metro closest to my home, but I'm getting into my car anyhow so I'd rather spend my money at any of the other supermarkets in the area. If I need a Metro, there is a well-managed, friendly one on St-Jean near the 20. Among their other merits, they make their flyers available for my convenience instead of hiding them for theirs.
Large selection of fresh produce. You can find a good selection of organic and vegan food.
All around good selection. Meat, fruits and vegetables are all fresh. A bit pricey. However prices are in line with other grocery stores that offer the same selection and service. Staff is friendly.
This is by far not a mega grocery store however if you take the time to look at all the nooks and crannies, you realize this store has an awful lot of selection and variety. The produce is super fresh and well organized. The staff is courteous and generally well available.A florist to boot as you walk in which will oftentimes save you from another trip for those occasions such as mother's day or Easter... Etc.
This is my go-to store. I do 80% of my groceries there. Their produce is really good quality, and their butcher shop is one of only 2 stores in the West Island I feel gives consistently good cuts of quality meat. I've also used their online orders for pick-up, and the quality of produce and meats I receive rival my best picks -- and I'm SUPER picky when it comes to meat! They are usually well stocked on their special items, so it's usually there no matter which day I wish to shop. It's really one of the best groceries out there in the West Island. And the reward cheques from their loyalty card are just the icing on the cake.
